8.5 months!

This is a half month shout out to my baby boy...because this blog has turned unto my virtual baby book.
You are nearly 8.5 months and last week you said 'dada' for the first time.
It was out of nowhere!
One minute you are quietly sitting in the shopping cart as I avoided crashing into the gobs of stuff at Bed Bath and Beyond [I loathe that store, it makes me claustrophobic]
and you start....
'ddddaaaaaaaadaahhhh. DDddaaaadddda.'
So it looks like Dad won the battle of who's name you would say first.
[gahhh]
You are in 'explore the world mode' allllll thhhheeee tiiiimme.
It's really fun and really tiring.
But I wouldn't quench your zest for life, for anything.
You LOVE food and you smack your lips like a fishy when you see us eat.
Just yesterday your friend Eva spilled her cherio's on the ground, you gobbled them up so fast; it was as if manna was falling from heaven down on you!
I say this with all honesty, I have so much FUN hanging out with you.
When you crawl around my feet as I sweep, or hang on to my legs as I cook, it melts me.
Or my favorite: when you are in the middle of your fun, you pause and look around the room till you see me and we smile at each-other.
I love that at such a young age you are already look to me for acknowledgment and approval.
You make my heart sing little bear.

Brink Costume Party 2010

Chris and I threw our first costume party. It was a success!
What happened? Delicious food, dancing & a very taboo game of Taboo.
Who came? Navi Avatars, Pirates, a gay 'Cop Out' Cop, Wayne & Garth, a Coyote headdress, Jillian Michaels, The Mad Hatter & Alice, and Dorothy from Oz [who was our friend Mike wearing his wife's dress & shoes, btw]
PARTY ON, WAYNE.
PARTY ON, GARTH.
EXCELLENT!

4 years of LOVE
I am so glad I said yes!
Four long-but-seemingly-short years later, we have dated, became 'fee-yawn-cays', got married and became Mr & Mrs, bought & renovated a house, loved each other real good, got pregnant [probably due to the loving real good part] & had our firstborn son. It's been an adventure to say the least, and I couldn't be more thrilled so share my life with you Christopher.
Cheers to love!

8 months!?

my little man.
you are 8 months old!
I've always said you were a quiet baby, but the last few days you found your lungs
[and I mean that in a positive way]
your latest thing is shrieking and screeching.
you open your mouth wide and stick your tongue out really far and SHRIEK.
it makes your dad and I laugh out loud.
your smile is contagious.
you are getting cuter by the day.
you love other babies.
you follow me around as I sweep the house like I am the most fascinating thing in the world.
you have two teeth! :)
...and to risk sounding redundant...
i think you are amazing and I LOVE YOU.

teeth & fallish things

we had a delicious and eventful weekend at the Brink Haus! I loooooove weekends oh so much.
hightlights :
we went to a pumpkin patch with some of our favorite friends
we ate fresh molasses cookies.
we got lost in a corn maze, a first for Rue!
we saw goats, pigs, chicken and cows.
Rue ate some hay [ and choked on an apple. I debated on wether or not to include this detail... Major Mom Fail.]
we picked out the perfect little pumpkins.
we bought a beautiful red mum for the porch.
we watched movies.
we did a family photo shoot with Claire Pelella Photography
we drank spiked hot chocolate.
we snuggled on the couch.
it was a good as it sounds...until....1:30 AM when screams and tears poured from Rue's room. Approximately 3 hours later, one miserable little boy cut not one, but two teeth! Thank God! These teeth have been a long time coming! He's been teething for months, and so you can imagine how happy he was the following day! I called him the angel-saint baby.
It was a truly great weekend that I wished would never end!! I HEART FALL!
